Sacramental Life

Here at Bishop Machebeuf, our first Core Value is devotion to God. One of our priorities is to provide for the sacramental life of our students and to bring them to the Blessed Sacrament.

Section 1324 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

"The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the Blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ Himself." CCC 1324

We are a school rooted in the Catholic faith, but many non-Catholics freely choose Bishop Machebeuf and find it to be a warm and welcoming environment.
Student Retreats

Machebeuf’s class retreats provide a perfect opportunity for the students of Bishop Machebeuf to get away from the busyness of life. Every retreat is focused on deepening the student's relationship with Christ. Talks are given by outside speakers, faculty, and staff.

Steubenville of the Rockies Youth Conference
Steubenville Youth Conferences are about inviting youth into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit through a call to embrace the heart and mission of the Church. Bishop Machebeuf is exploring taking a group this summer.

Bishop Machebeuf High School is committed to its Christian call to serve through student service days. Each class (Freshmen, Sophomore, etc) participates in one service day each year, known as SHUT DOWN FOR SERVICE DAY. Through our service learning program, Bishop Machebeuf High School has provided thousands of service hours to the Denver community. All students MUST complete the Shut Down for Service Day project each school year. This is a graduation requirement.
Last school year, the entire Machebeuf community served 20 organizations throughout the Metro area on Friday, April 22, 2016. We enjoyed volunteering at locations including Archdiocesan Housing, Harvest Acres Farm, Lighthouse Women's Center, Village @ Lowry, Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, and various Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Elementary Schools.

Organizations interested in working with Machebeuf on this year's Shut Down for Service Day should contact Ms. Meredith Brennan, Director of Catholic Community, at
