From the Coach - Season end recap

The Boys Varsity Lacrosse team capped a difficult season with an extraordinary effort in their 2012 regular season finale against 5A Gateway High School, a team they beat last year late in the 4th quarter.  Although Gateway prevailed this year in sudden death overtime 10-9, the Buffalos did not give up, tying the game with just 11 seconds on the scoreboard.  After a scoreless first overtime, Gateway was able to control the face-off and scored the winning goal.  Junior Midfielder Ty Overturf led the team with 8 points (6 goals 2 assists).  Senior attackman Jack Graas had 2 goals and 1 assist while junior midfielder Donovan Clinkscales registered 4 points with 1 goal and 3 assists.  Overturf picked up 11 ground balls and was 9 for 19 in the face-off category.  Junior attackman Marquis Dominik picked up a career high 6 ground balls.  The difference in the game was twofold: Gateway goalie Matt Fales who saved 16 of the 25 shots he faced and the injury suffered by junior midfielder Clay Foley in the Denver South game.  Foley had become one of the leading scorers for the team.
 
At the season ending banquet, Ty Overturf was awarded the Most Valuable Player, junior defenseman Taylor Kipp was the Most Improved and senior defenseman Josh Napierkowski won the Buffalo award.   

The team moves from 5A to 4A in 2013 and will compete in a yet-to-be-named conference that will include Valor High School, Denver South, Englewood, Ridge View Academy, Vista Peak and Windsor.   The team returns all but 2 starters for the 2013 campaign.
