Visit Machebeuf

We strongly encourage 8th grade students to take advantage of our Green & Gold Day shadowing program in order to experience what being a Machebeuf student entails. Prospective students are paired up with a Machebeuf Ambassador throughout the morning. If you are interested in registering to shadow, please complete the Green & Gold Day Request Form and return it to Machebeuf by dropping it off at the front office, mailing it to us, or faxing it. We rarely accept students outside of the dates provided for shadowing and we have a daily limit of 20 students per Green & Gold Day.

Tours of Machebeuf

The best way to get a sense of our schools is to visit. Tours of our campus are provided by our Director of Enrollment Management by appointment. Please plan to spend approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour for your visit and tour.

Green & Gold Shadowing dates

Students in 8th grade during the 2010-2011 school year will be welcome to shadow at Machebeuf from September thru December 2010. Green & Gold Shadowing dates for the 2010-2011 school year will be posted by September 1st.

Transfer or late applicants interested in shadowing during the spring semester should contact the Enrollment Management office directly to schedule a date. Shadowing opportunities are not available between May 20th thru September 10th, but tours may be scheduled upon request.

The following guidelines should help you plan your visit:

1. The shadowing request form should be received by us a minimum of one week in advance of your proposed visit. You will be contacted by the Enrollment Management office to confirm your visit.

2. Guests that shadow will spend a half day with a Machebeuf Ambassador. Students may also spend one period with the Director of Enrollment Management. During this time, a tour will be conducted and time for initial Q & A. Students will spend the morning class periods with Machebeuf Ambassadors in class. Students will then be offered the opportunity to spend lunch with their Machebeuf Ambassador. The student is expected to pay for or bring his/her own lunch. Lunch can be purchased for less than $5.00.

3. Guests should be in appropriate attire for the day. If the guest is coming from a Catholic or private high school, you are expected to wear your school’s uniform. All others are expected to come dressed in khaki dress pants with a white polo-type shirt tucked in at the waist, secured by a belt, and wearing seasonally-appropriate shoes.

4. Every effort will be made to arrange for your student to visit a class that is not having a quiz/test, but in the event that cannot be done, your child should bring something to read or homework that can be done.

5. Prepare yourself with questions for our faculty, administrators, and students and be ready for the Machebeuf Green & Gold Experience!
