Boys Soccer and Service to Others
Hands for Hope. On Saturday, September 17th at 7:30am, members of the Machebeuf Boys Soccer Team volunteered for the annual Hands for Hope Day with Hope Communities.
Despite the fact that it was the morning after the Homecoming Dance, there were 27 soccer players, parents, and coaches there to help out! Hope Communities is a Christian organization that assists people in need with housing and other basic needs. Because we had such a great turnout, Hope Communities was able to divide up our group to work on three separate projects.
Three players, with the assistance of Brother James, helped to clean out a residence. Another large group of players and parents worked to paint a rail on a handicap ramp and to paint the back-side of a building used for meetings and offices. The third group of players, parents, and Coach Brian helped to pull weeds and spread mulch in a lot that is being converted into a park.
The players worked really hard and the people from Hope Communities continually complemented their work ethic and dedication. All of the work that the players, parents, and coaches did was truly appreciated by Hope Communities. Way to go boys!
